  This tournament’s layout is very poor… I’m really not understanding how you can be so lazy when organizing a tourny? The way normal tournaments work is fair, this is completely biased to the higher seeds, and even if a lower seed wins, they still retain that low seed. What I’m saying is in a normal single elimination tournament, I’ll give my last match for example, I beat the 32# seed even though I’m seeded 90# something. In any well organized tournament I would have taken over the 32nd seed spot. So what I don’t understand is why would you guys organize a tournament in which the lower seeds end up having to play against the top ten over and over to advance? Even if I beat the number 9, I have to go against another top ten player. Also with krs_ 64# who technically “eliminated” the 1# seed last round is last seeded again? Why do the top seeds get it easy? Why do the middle seeds just get to battle it out amongst themselves? Any tournament with seeds only uses them for the first round, because if you keep reseeding then what happened to me happens. You know, I don’t really care anymore, I really just wanted to let you know how this tournament failed as far as fairness goes on many levels. Tournament software is free… At least next time give the lower seeds a chance.

    Re-seeding is common and is used even in the NFL and NHL playoffs. It is completely fair and it is the method that was clearly outlined in the tournament introduction; if you did not want to participate in this format you did not have to sign up.

    Look at the tournament. Ninety percent of everyone remaining even after just the first round is rated 1700+; this is a very high level player pool. EVERYONE will have challenging matches. Of course most people don’t want to play against the very best but anyone will have to do that in order to win the tournament. There is nothing stopping a low seeded player from knocking off higher seeds one at a time all the way to the final and if you don’t have the confidence in your own abilities to take on that challenge then I don’t know why you signed up for a 1v1 tournament in the first place.

    I like this format because it is easy to set up and its fun since its more of a mystery as to who you will play in the next round. This being said I also appreciate a normal bracket and its definitely also awesome knocking off a higher seed and taking over their position for an easier match the following round like you said. Anyway the next tournament we do will probably be like that so hope you didn’t lose your patience too much with this one.

  My game vs Anghkor has encountered some difficulties, while we have been able to contact each other via the forums, twice we have agreed upon a time, only for him not to turn up and cite, “I forgot the timezone differences” and now it is time for me to sleep and the deadline will pass while I sleep.

        Once actually, because I miscalculated the time conversion. I was online 30 minutes late, expecting to be 30 minutes early for the time he requested. However, I told him I would be around ALL day today, since I’m off work, but now he says he’s “Oh, I can’t, I’m sleeping”. Gotta love how getting that 15-20 minutes of sleep (time for a match) is a better excuse than working a real job.
