HoN item exclusive modifiers and attack modifiers explained
Exclusive modifiers
Exclusive modifiers are mana burns, chain lightnings, and bashes. Exclusive modifiers stack with other exclusive modifiers but not with exclusive modifiers of the same type. For example, stacking a Charged Hammer with a Thunderclaw will not give you extra lightning procs. Stacking two Brutalizers will not give you extra bashes. However, stacking a Thunderclaw with a Brutalizer does give you the chance to stun and proc lightning on every attack.
Exclusive modifiers do stack with attack modifiers.
The following are exclusive modifiers:
Mana burns:
- Nullfire Blade
- Magebane’s Mana Combustion
Bashes:
- Brutalizer
- Pestilence’s Gore
Chain Lightnings:
- Thunderclaw
- Charged Hammer
Attack modifiers
Attack modifiers do not stack with other attack modifiers of a different type. In HoN Patch 0.3.4, lifesteal was made an attack modifier (except for the lifesteal aura from Abyssal Skull), which greatly reduces the number of viable item builds. If you have more than one attack modifier, you can switch between each attack modifier by clicking on their icon located above the minimap or by pressing “,” or “.” (by default). You can toggle this in between attacks to get more than one attack modifier onto a unit you are attacking, just like toggling Desolator/Searing Arrows on Clinkz for massive damage in Dota.
Attack modifiers do stack with exclusive modifiers.
The following are attack modifiers:
Lifesteals:
- Hungry Spirit
- Whispering Helm
- Elder Parasite
- Symbol of Rage
Other items:
- Frostwolf’s Skull
- Shieldbreaker
- Icebrand
- Frostburn
- Harkon’s Blade
Abilities:
- Slither’s Toxicity
- Beardulon’s Tangle Claw
- Accursed’s Sear
- Magmus’s Volcanic Touch
- Vindicator’s Master’s Incantation
- Kraken’s Splash
- Arachna’s Webbed Shot
even more confused now. i thought HON was cool cuz they got rid of all these sorts of things that the WC3 engine limited dotar to.
if they took the orb effects away than people would get way to uber. Imagine this: u have chronos, a very fast attacking hero with life steal, manaburn, chain lighting, icy atacks, shield breaker. that would be too uber, so thats why they kept that idea
