In case you didn’t get the memo; Blizzard DoTA for SC2
http://www.sc2mapster.com/
While there isn’t much info being released on the link, a simple google or look on the playdota.com or heroes of newerth forums about this have a lot of comments and links going around. I’m too lazy and it’s late to have a lot of links being thrown around
Basically there’s a DoTA map being in Alpha Phase with the SC2 map editor coming into play, however there’s already a dota-esque map already out under the alias of SoITS, whatever it stands for

The DRD Insult Generator says:- GET TITTYCARRIED OFF THE CRAPPER, BIG BURYING AND BIG CARRYING HEAP.

doesn’t really matter, it won’t compare to hon, let alone dota 2
dota 2 will blow this garbage game along with heroes of newerth away (hopefully, i mean all we want is a 1:1 port with leaver protection/stats/better engine)
seriously? another dota clone? idk but doesnt that infringe copyrights? pretty much remade pudge with a space suit.
Nandy – THere is no copyright enfringements.
Actually, BLizzard could have patented Dota, since any game made in the editor is owned by blizzard – so they can do whatever they want.
That’s like saying u wrote a symphony on someone elses piano so now they’re the owner of it
Terrible analogy but your logic is worse
DAggius.
omg…. How fucking stupid are you? Read the fucking Terms Of Use Agreement, for the Wc3 Editor. It says that. So stop being a fucking cunt and fucking either1. READ or 2. LISTEN…
How fucking retarded can you be? Really, wiseass.
@Daggius – this is from the User Agreement if you were too fucking lazy yourself:
enduser licence aggreement section 3
Ownership. All title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to the Program and any and all copies thereof (including, but not limited to, any titles, computer code, themes, objects, characters, character names, stories, dialog, catch phrases, locations, concepts, artwork, animations, sounds, musical compositions, audio-visual effects, methods of operation, moral rights, any related documentation, and “applets” incorporated into the Program) are owned by Blizzard Entertainment or its licensors. The Program is protected by the copyright laws of the United States, international copyright treaties, and conventions and other laws. All rights are reserved. The Program contains certain licensed materials, and Blizzard’s licensors may protect their rights in the event of any violation of this Agreement
STAND FUCKING CORRECTED BITCH!
couldnt a court override that if it came to the crunch?
you’re still wrong; think about what “in and to the Program” means
putting your own intellectual property into a Blizzard custom map doesn’t suddenly give them legal rights to it
Daggius.. Just stop your stubborn self..
And no, a court could not. Cause Icefrog (or whoever invented DoTA) Agreed to these terms. So they’re fucked. But Blizzard are nice people (since they earn billions on WoW) so they won’t sue anyone.
tl;dr
Valve has all the rights to the patent name DoTA currently, not Blizzard
well, even if its legal, thats really retarded.
Played Blizzard DotA at BlizzCon. It’s garbage compared to HoN, DotA, and even LoL. There’s built in delay in SC2 that’s pretty bad. It’s like playing old school DotA with no LC. Plus there’s no item hotkeys, limited heroes, and no reconnect. No one from DotA or HoN will ever migrate to that map.
Blizzard can’t claim right over someone else’s intellectual property. You’re fucking dense. You think Blizzard hasn’t sued because “they’re nice people”? How fucking stupid are you? You just made me LOL at that comment I almost pushed my kid down the stairs because of that. If Blizzard really wanted ownership over the DotA name and ‘community’ they would have scooped it up years ago. You know, when DotA was becoming popular worldwide back in 2005-2006. Not in fucking 2010. Blizzard took a shit on the mod community for WC3 and now they’re crying foul because its too late and they let a golden fucking opportunity slip out of their fingers.
