Typical play in a 1750 Matchmaking
Tonight I was treated to some of this riveting action in my high level MM game. Bro I just uploaded my first HD video, you mad? KingRaven, if you’re watching pick up some tips from this Pyro. That first missed stun was fairly legit if he was from say, Australia, on a USW server.
He would’ve clicked the first stun when Blacksmith was still heading in that direction because of a high ping (usually 250+ms).
The rest is fucking hilarious though.

Also, Raven/daggius/typical DRD rager (probably Raven, though); after seeing you rage so much about bads, why not make a post with some genuinely good advice instead of trolling (just for once). I’m sitting around 1650, and I recently got CRUSHED by a 1900+ in mid. I’ve played about 1K games (I got a stat reset at 800ish though ><) and I seriously have no fucking idea how to improve. I never really played DotA, but even so, you think I'd be at least 1700+ after ONE THOUSAND FUCKING GAMES.

once you stop caring about 1700 psr itll come. psr is a semi accurate way of rating skill. i know a lot of kids in 1700s that are trying to get into 1800s and the fact is they arent 1800 players so they wont ever get it. be happy with your current skill level and itll improve with time
Plenty of shitters that have 1800 psr bracket that dont deserve it.
if they are undeserving of 1800, then it is inevitable they will drop back down
I’ve legitimately tried to help people in coaching, but the only way you get better is getting slammed by good players or watching them pull great tricks. I can sit here and type up an entire book on HoN, but if you don’t actively practice it against good players and see how it’s done, then you’ll always be stuck at 1650.
The big difference between 1750 and 1950 is that 1950 knows what’s going to happen 2 seconds in the future, knows the tricks and how to respond quickly to the situation. 1750 will get outplayed because what he’s doing is already known to the better player.
but if you’re a 1600 scrubbie you can’t play vs pros b r o..
What helped me improve tremendously in DoTA/HoN was to focus on a specific role and watch replays.
Basically instead of picking random heroes or playing AR games decide on a role you want to improve at (pure carry, semi carry, ganker, etc etc) and then find a player who you know plays that role way better than you and watch his/her replays. Instead of trying to watch every lane in a replay try to follow around the player you are trying to learn from and see how they respond to every situation.
This will really help you focus on specific skills to improve on rather than just something general like “getting better at HoN”.
Or you could end up like me and only be able to play 3 heroes.
