Hellbringer

Hellbringer is a ranged Intelligence hero in Heroes of Newerth loosely based on DotA’s Warlock.  Hellbringer’s wide AOE ultimate makes him a great initiator in team battles or at least a way to save teammates that have already been initiated on by a group of enemies.

Explanation: One level of Unholy Shackles (a slowing skill) can get you kills early game but more levels than that would be a waste.  You want to max Death Boil and Life Void early to dominate the lane.

Recommended Item Build

Steamboots + Puzzlebox + Restoration Stone + Barbed Armor + Kuldra’s Sheepstick + Harkon’s Blade

Explanations:

Barbed Armor is good since Hellbringer can absorb a lot more damage than his hit points would suggest simply by spamming Life Void in a team battle.

Harkon’s Blade works well with the Magic Armor reduction of the Life Void ability.
