While there isn’t much info being released on the link, a simple google or look on the playdota.com or heroes of newerth forums about this have a lot of comments and links going around.  I’m too lazy and it’s late to have a lot of links being thrown around

Basically there’s a DoTA map being in Alpha Phase with the SC2 map editor coming into play, however there’s already a dota-esque map already out under the alias of SoITS, whatever it stands for

Alchemist
- Unstable Concoction stun duration rescaled from 2.5/3/3.5/4 to 1.75/2.5/3.25/4
- Added an AoE effect indicator for the Alchemist player while he is charging his Unstable Concoction

Axe
- Battle Hunger slow increased to 10%
- Cooldown on Aghanim’s Culling Blade reduced from 15 to 10 seconds

Bane Elemental
- Brainsap damage rebalanced from 75/150/225/300 to 90/160/230/300
- Enfeeble damage rebalanced from 30/60/90/120% to 40/60/80/100% (above 100% didn’t work properly)
- Added -disablehelp for Nightmare, to stop direct casting on allies (3123839)

- Fixed a bug with Sticky Napalm overhead text (+1, +2, etc) that was recently added from being visible to the enemy

Beastmaster
- Hawk’s HP reduced from 100/200 to 50/100
- Invisibility on Hawk reworked. It now fades out automatically whenever it hasn’t moved for 8 seconds.

Bone Fletcher
- Death Pact attack damage rebalanced from 6/7/8% to 4/6/8% of targets HP

Bounty Hunter
- Jinada critical strike increased from 1.4/1.6/1.8/2.0 to 1.5/1.75/2/2.25
- Track cast range increased from 750/950/1150 to 900/1050/1200

Broodmother
- Increased XP given for killing Broodmother’s Spiderlings

DoTA 6.68 Beta66 map fun

First off : HOLY JESUS FUCK A DOTA POST

Now one might ask why we would release this map when 6.68c is already out, needless to say that there are TWO heroes that were not released in 6.68 that are in the beta map.  Whether or not there are vast changes to the heroes is yet to be seen

The first is the widely speculated Icarus the Phoenix – Strength Sentinel

1st spell : Basically waveform multiple times dealing damage

2nd spell : Basically reincarnation assuming your egg lives

3rd spell : think torrent but your hero flies up and it does DoT

Ultimate : Stuns everything on the map, I shit you not.  The closer to the unit that is spawned the longer the stun

and another hero  that was scheduled for release was Ymir the Tuskar – Agility Neutral

1st spell : Think of Spectres dagger except it grows and does more damage the more units it hits

2nd spell : Passive, increases regeneration and IAS for how many attacks are done on YOU

3rd spell : Any damage that would be done to you that is over 50 damage, the unit dealing damage would get stunned and also damages them goodbye leshrac anyone?

Ultimate : Basically a crit strike with a slow added on top, FALCON PUNCH anyone?

Flint Beastwood aka Dota’s Dwarven Sniper coming to HoN next

First of all, nice fucking name.  Good to see S2 following up Doctor Repulsor with another homerun.  Judging by those squints this Orc is straight outa Hong Kong.  He’s packing what looks to be like a pair of twin-barreled muskets (shotties don’t have that clicky thing up top, notice I’m a gun expert), and from the leak at pcgamer.com looks to be a direct port of Dota’s Dwarven Sniper.  I hate boring Agility heroes, but frankly this will keep the EM nerds happy and add to WaC’s arsenal of shit to carry me with.  Hopefully a fun hero like Pugna is coming next, though apparently Gyrocopter is all the rage right now.

Seeking Missile

Fires a slow moving missle at target enemy unit. It starts off slow and then accelerates a little over time. Starts off startionary and inactive for the first three seconds then moves at 280 MS and increases by 20 each second. Can be killed by physical attacks.

The longer it takes to reach the target the more damage it does.

Delay before becoming active: 3 seconds

Initial movement speed: 280

Acceleration: 20 per second

Minimum Damage: 50

Maximum Damage: 100/200/300/400

Maximum Distance Threshold: 2000

Stun: 2.5 seconds

Great initiation tool while used in the forest hiding or just to finish killing those enemies that are running away without the need to chase them down.

Fires two missles up in the air. The first missle lands at target area, dealing damage and slowing units in it. After a brief period, the second missle lands there as well.

Item Recommendations

As the norm with any … DPS hero, manta style is a great item to get. Gives damage, attack speed, movespeed and images.

You may question why but it increases Gyro’s farming capability a lot as well as his DPS potential.  Rocket Barrage & Flak Cannon & Radiance immolation is a huge amount of AoE damage.

Purge to help keep units in range as well as mana burn, very useful item indeed.

Early Game

From what I’ve tested and done in beta Gyro is geared more toward ganking with carry potential.  Use seeking missiles where the enemies cannot see the missile itself (in trees, uphill etc.) so they are not aware of the missile and therefore are more vulnerable to the gank.  Early in the game try to focus on last hits as hard as it may be due to range, once you hit 6 you should start looking for ganks more and more with calldown, the combination of Call Down, Rocket Barrage & Seeking Missile alone is very devastating.

Middle Game

You should keep gank-farming or if your team lacks a hard carry and is keeping down the other team’s carry well enough you can start to farm a bit.  Utilize Flak Cannons well in team fights putting yourself in an area that would allow you to hit multiple enemy heroes if possible.  Carry a TP scroll as always to find a free farm spot or just to help out your hard carry if he is being ganked.

Late Game

You should keep ganking or farm a bit if you are not that hugely farmed.  Gyro late game is a HUGE DPS tank, so if you are having trouble surviving grab a BKB for those pesky casters as well as a heart or even Satanic if you lack an orb effect.  Eventually even if you haven’t geared Gyro in a carry aspect you will be doing enough damage with Flak Cannon/Rocket Barrage alone to potentially be a carry hero.
