Warchamp calls out Diva, Maliken, Honcast in big cryfest

TLDR version:

Warchamp, a global moderator claims:

• he’s quitting after 3 years of volunteering since it has turned into a shitfest
• community contributors made the game great and many were hired by S2
• Diva’s design decisions suck and his control over all design stifles its success
• Maliken is the main problem with Hon and his greed-motivated decisions ruin it
• Honcast is a monopoly because of S2′s support and Breaky & Phil suck at the game & therefore suck at casting
• Hon is just a cash grab now

As of yesterday, I am no longer a global moderator for Heroes of Newerth, I was forcefully removed from the team without even getting to post a goodbye. After 3 years or more of volunteering my free time to a game I loved, I eventually became too disinterested and inactive to warrant maintaining the status. As such, I think it’s time for a nice big post. I warn you now I’m a terrible writer so I’m probably just gonna toss out a wall of rambling.

The Beginning

When HoN first entered beta, I got in relatively early through a friend. I was never a big dota player but I had played it ocassionally and had heard about LoL being in development (And expected terrible things simply because of the name). I enjoyed the game and ended up participating on the forums, including making a big mega thread at one point filled to the brim with hero information.

Eventually, as I do with most games, I started tinkering with the game files and I created a simple mod that put all the DotA names for items next to the HoN one in-game. It was crude and imperfect, but it got the job done. With that, mods for HoN were born and an incredible and talented community began to thrive, leading to the later creation of the mod manager. Shortly after I made that first mod and released it in the “Interface” section of the forums, it was altered into a modding section with me as the moderator in charge. Around this time, S2 was still a small indie company, with only 20 – 30 people total with nearly half of those being the artist team.

I joined a moderator team along with a number of other really cool people that I’m friends with still to this day. Most of them are listed on the credits page in the ‘Moderators’ section.

Looking at that list, I wanna quickly go over a couple of them.

CoL dumps their HoN team & 7000$ trip to Dreamhack; Tarano claims Breakycpk and Phil responsible

CoL drops their HoN team:

“While making preparations to send the team to Dreamhack Winter information arose that caused our management concern. After speaking with the squad it was decided that under the current circumstances they would not be attending the event in Sweden.”

Tarano drops some juicy details:

“Phil approached complexity (I believe it was at Blizzcon) and told them we were destroying their image and reputation… Breaky, instead of taking responsibility for his own decisions, sends Phil to the dirty work. What was said, I have no idea. Can only assume Breaky fabricated some **** and coL believed it. I don’t think coL cares one bit about HoN. They had “Summoner’s Rift” listed under HoN.”

Jeff “Big Game” Hunter big sighting at E3 Expo 2011

Just a year after getting famously slammed by Solace for a myriad of indecencies, Hunter slinked back out of the shadows — and straight back to HoN.  Hunter was spotted at the S2 Games private party at E3 last week, throwing back drinks with Maliken, snapping pics with MsPudding, and even passing out Honcast business cards.  The Honcast founder has seen his creation buoyed to success by famous fatass breakcpk.  Now he’s proud enough to show his face again (albeit in a dark room of neckbeards) after a whole year in hiding.  Fun to know he’s still pulling the strings for Honcast and collecting bank after Adolph “Balphagore” Santorine pretended to take over in the wake of Hunter’s name getting dragged through the dirt.  And you gotta love seeing that sly creepy smile again.

Honcast’s fat nerd agenda backfires after they DDOS attack AMXZaku to bring his stream down; everyone hates Honcast now

This shit is blowing up on forums little sons.  Basically dumptrucks filled to the brim of nerds who wanted to watch the Honor tournament were shifting from Honcast cast over to the Zaku one since he had a great quality stream going, the game people actually wanted to watch, and even the vent stream of the actual players talking during their match instead of a fat nerd who gets paid by Hunter to yell when a battle’s happening.  Kids got mad and once again Honcast hilariously delivered a CEASE AND DECIST notice — apprently only kids with a HCT emblem polo shirt are allowed to have a show about a video game lewl.  Bros, here at Dotally Rad, being the fine, upstanding HoN citizens we are, we issued a friendly warning JUST LAST WEEKEND to Honcast in which we mentioned that blocking other organizations from casting matches was unclassy and it shouldn’t be happening if you wanted to be taken seriously.  Let the free market work its magic and the best stream will win.

There goes what was left of their credibility.  Those kids actually DDOS attacked Zaku to take down his stream when he wouldn’t do what they asked. Check out Pwn’s stream from 15:20 on for details.
Anyway, we all know that great forum topic will be gone and deleted before we can fully enjoy it as S2 forum slobs do everything they can to help HCT save some face, so lets take in some of the best comments while we can:

Don’t even watch that anymore, breaky is a horrid caster that misses a lot of action while he sits and comments on some supports farm. I’ve seen streams where the streamer was playing and caught more of the action he wasn’t in himself.

From what I understand it was never stated that players would not be allowed to stream their own matches at the start so yeah. Is it their tournament? Yes, but when such things aren’t stated at the start there’s no wondering people get annoyed when a stream gets shut down, especially when the only one available for it is of such poor quality.

Bro really?  This is hilarious.  I mean first of all if you’re supporting this game and promoting it then you should be down with as many people casting it as possible.  Also if you think you are the best caster, which u should, then you should enjoy the competition, show yer the best and put them in the dumpster with better quality. Anyone can stream a game but can’t you cast it the best?

Btw who even watches Gamereplays casts?  You have to dig through their dumpy forums just to find the “VODs”, no one fucking does that shit anyway.  At least u can go to honcast.com and watch some shit right off the bat without a lot of wanking around.

Had to play some nerd 2000 PSR euros in the honcast shit, Danish Dynamite team heh and were even missing 60% of our normal starting lineup.  Bro we even have two 1400 psr guys in the match since the rest of nerds went to go play wow for 10 hours like massive dweebs n Moon had to go with his mommy to the mall to buy some new underpants cuz he having a growth spurt who’s mommy’s little tiger?
Plus these euroturds wanna roll for server and bust out a 87, fuck that shit.  Too bad we get that 88 right out there who’s mad.
