Dota 6.68 Preview

As you can see, there are four new heroes: another Chaos Knight, a Wisp, a Gyrocopter, and a Gnoll. There are also what look like a number of possible enhancements (could be new items instead) to heroes like Tiny, Puck, and King Leoric. Looks like Tiny really likes wrecking buildings now. Wonder if his Toss damage still works on buildings too.

Spells

Shell Surf

Bubbles uses his shell as the focus for a teleport spell. Bubble’s shell slides toward his opponents, damaging anyone it strikes. Bubbles may choose to teleport to his shell at any point in its journey.

Activation

Throws shell in target direction dealing 70/140/210/280 Magic damage. Using this ability while in mid flight will teleport Bubbles to the shells location.

Type – Magic

Radius – 225

Range – 1800

Mana Cost – 150

Cooldown – 15 seconds

A great initiation tool for him to set up his ultimate or chase during a gank, while the projectile speed isn’t the fastest (600 units/second) it allows you to teleport over cliffs/trees and nonetheless is a great skill.  It can also be used to escape from an incoming gank.  You also gain vision from where the shell goes so it can be used to scout at various times however due to the somewhat long cooldown you should think before just throwing this skill out there.

===================================================================================================

Song of the Siren

Bubbles plays a resounding note on his conch, damaging and silencing any foes unlucky enough to be near.

Activation

Activation
Deals 60 / 120 / 180 / 240 Magic damage to all enemy units in the radius and applies Muted for .1 / 1 / 2 / 3 seconds.

Muted Effects
Silenced

Type – Magic

Radius – 400

Mana Cost – 100/110/120/130

Cooldown – 20 seconds

A great follow up to his Shell Surf ability after teleporting in to ensure that your opposition cannot counter initiate onto you.

===================================================================================================

Take Cover

Bubbles retreats into his enchanted shell, becoming impervious to all forms of attack, whether magical or mundane.

Activation
Grants invulnerability to all damage for duration of channel.

Can be toggled to auto-cast by right clicking. When set to auto-cast, this skill will automatically be used when Bubbles takes non-DOT damage, preventing that damage from being dealt.

The automatic use will not trigger if Bubbles becomes stunned or silenced.

Type – Self

Mana Cost – 50/40/30/20

Cooldown – 6 seconds

Note that right-clicking the skill will put it on auto-cast so that whenever an attempt to damage your hero is done, you will automatically use this skill and dodge itThis skill is very very good.  It’s basically a 3 second invulnerability (at level 4) with a 3 second cooldown. You can dodge projectiles like stuns, slows, attacks etc. a great strategy is to use Shell Surf to escape, take cover for a short duration and then comes out to teleport to the shell, or use the shell as a decoy if they chase the shell and actually run away.

===================================================================================================

Kelp Field

Arcane seaweed vines sprout from the ground, latching onto enemy heroes. Trying to escape the vines is futile – running causes them to snap, stunning and damaging their captive.

Activation
All enemy heroes in the radius take 100 / 150 / 200 Magic damage and are stunned for .5 seconds instantly.

If they move more than 600 units away from the center of the effect, they are stunned for 1.5 / 2.25 / 3 seconds and take an additional 100 / 150 / 200 Magic damage.

Type – Magic

Range – 750

Radius – 400

Mana Cost – 100/150/200

Cooldown – 85 seconds

Bubbles’ coupe de grace, his ultimate is a great initiation tool if you can capture more than 1 hero in it for a team fight, it basically restricts the heroes caught in the 600 AoE to that AoE otherwise they suffer a longer duration of stun and more damage, great use in combination with Shell Surf to catch the opposition off guard and initiate a fight for your team.  While it can be used defensively to stop opposition from chasing due to the somewhat long cooldown its suggested that unless your team is turtling and get caught off guard you save it for catching a hero alone so your team can push or for team fights.

Item Recommendations

Steamboots (STR) are recommended earlier in the game due to bubbles low HP pool and later on if your hero is surviving with ample HP left you can change the steamboots to INT to put out additional DPS, and while 10 damage might not seem much every bit of damage helps later

Nullstone adds some much needed HP’MP as well as adds the passive ability of the item which negates various spells in game which in addition to take cover and Bubbles’ already above average survivability rate when played properly, this item addition will make your hero extremely difficult to kill and deal with.

Totems Kundra is always an exceptional item to get on an INT item, basically allows you to spam your spells whenever needed, adds an additional disable with the Hex.

===================================================================================================

Early Game

Bubbles is an exceptional solo hero since the sooner he hits 6 he can gank the other lanes.  Grab a bottle early but NOT first since you can control the runes easily with Shell Surf and wards.  Try to last hit creeps with both of your nukes in addition to harassing your opposing lane member to make the most effectiveness of your farming, make sure to do this near rune spawn time so that it forces the other hero to back off to the tower while you go off for the rune or to gank. Once you hit 7/8 you should be doing gank-farming which is ganking heroes and if they die or back off, farm the lane for a bit if you are in a good position still HP wise only if your carry hero isn’t farming the lane.

Middle Game

By now you should be only doing gank-farming and focusing on keeping the other carry heroes down.  Keep warding and supporting your team by doing so and rune control is crucial during this time, a haste or invis and even a double damage rune can substantially increase the chance of ganking the other team and increase the success rate that your team comes out on top, if you’re having survivability issues then grab a few fortified bracers and a STR steamboots.

Late Game

By now you should just be throwing everything you have at the other team in team fights and by now you should stop farming altogether and be roaming with your team in order to kill the other team and push, you most likely will be the initiator for your team so don’t be worried if you die in order for your team to win those fights.  Your ultimate by now should be hitting more than 1 hero otherwise you are doing something horribly wrong and need to adjust your playstyle, even if it means not dropping your ultimate right away you should always be hitting more than 1 hero in your ultimate.

Test patch features New HoN Hero “Fayde”, & another hero incoming ala DotA’s Puck??

Check out this link

and now compare the statistics to DotA’s Puck

Could a potential new hero to be added to HoN be a replica of DotA’s Puck? I’d say so with the mass amount of similarities between the two heroes, but only time will tell but if it is a replicate of Puck I have just one thing to say.

About time.

Update

There’s also a new hero being released into a Test Patch called Fayde with major speculation already brewing in the comment section of what this hero is, and if it indeed is a port from DotA

Update

So apparently this “Fayde” hero isn’t the import of Puck as I had originally thought, however this does not mean that the link provided is the statistical attributes for Fayde, does this mean HoN has 2 heroes near the point of release with rumors swirling of a turtle-like hero? Probably.

That being said there’s been speculation that the hero “Fayde” is like DotA’ s very own Phantom Lancer since it has been confirmed it is an Agility based hero and has an illusion-like ability.  So technically it could be Phantom Lancer, Naga Siren and dare I say, Meepo?
